Both the Edie and Florence can be made as a top or a dress - I’m thinking a Florence Dress in this Alta Mare Laundered Linen will be just the thing once Spring hits (although spring is still feeling like a long lost dream this week!).     I’m onto the fourth section of my Vertices Unite I’m onto the fourth section of my Vertices Unite Shawl and it’s basically saving my life right now, sooooo soothing and enjoyable to knit (even if I did start, and rip out halfway, two different yarns for section three before committing 🤣). I’m using stash yarn including some of our Fibresmith Hand Dyed Baby Alpaca, Linen & Silk and the Ochre 306 Merino Yak & Silk - both delightful to knit with 🙌🏻 #verticesuniteshawl #verticesunite Pattern by @westknits and available via his website or on @hi.ravelry
    I think we could all use a little gorgeousness thi I think we could all use a little gorgeousness this morning and luckily I’ve had these pics up my sleeve for a few weeks! This stunning cowl was knit by our very own, super clever, Jennifer with two skeins of the Darnie Lambswool 4ply Tweed in 8805 Red Door in an alternating lace stitch that she modified a bit to get exactly the look she wanted (yes, she’s one of those extra clever folks who can just do stuff like that 😄). It’s soft and warm and BEAUTIFUL, wrapping around the neck twice for extra cosy. Seems like the perfect time to bunker down for some knitting - we have heaps of gorgeous Darnie colours in stock and our online shop is open 24/7, with orders heading out daily!
    Seems I jumped the gun last night when I updated o Seems I jumped the gun last night when I updated on Local Pickups as circumstances have changed again today. I’m so sorry for causing confusion last night, I wasn’t aware then that another announcement was to be made regarding businesses. I do agree with the govt that people staying home is the most important thing over the next six weeks so unfortunately that means local pickups will need to be suspended. The Local Pickup option will only be available on the website until noon Wednesday and all Local Pickup orders will need to be picked up this Tuesday and Wednesday between 10am and 2pm. All current pickup orders, look out for an updated email tonight with these details, hopefully we can make it work for everyone over the next couple of days. We will still be sending orders daily so our online shop is all systems go and we have so appreciated all the amazing support that has been flooding in these last weeks. Keep up the projects to pass the time, we’ll get you what you need!
    New stage four restrictions mean we’re changing New stage four restrictions mean we’re changing our Local Pickup system a bit - Local Pickups will now only be available Tuesdays and Fridays 10am til noon and Saturdays 10am til 2pm and will only be available to addresses within 5km of the shop (please don’t make us police this, just do the right thing and select Flat Rate Shipping if we’re outside your local shopping area). Any current outstanding Local Pickups that are outside the 5km zone, we will be in touch with an invoice for shipping cost and will upgrade you to Express Post to make the sting a bit less. I’m just relieved that we don’t have to shut down altogether and can continue online trading, we have so much great stuff arriving in the next couple of weeks! Let’s get through this, folks ❤️
    With Melbourne not looking like it’s getting out With Melbourne not looking like it’s getting out of lockdown any time soon (😭), I’m planning a few cosy projects to bolster my spirits. This fabulous Japanese pattern book arrived with our last shipment and is a true winner, full of great looking patterns for knit basics - t-shirts, skirts, pants and a hoodie that can also be made as a hoodie dress!! I’ve got some of our Cotton French Terry in Grey Marle washed up, just need to decide if I’m making the hoodie or the dress and find the will to trace the pattern...

As well as most of the Merchant & Mills patterns, of course 🙌🏻
    This right here? Yes, this is elastic - much covet This right here? Yes, this is elastic - much coveted and prized elastic - but it’s also a symbol of kindness and community. Liz of @wovenstoriestextiles reached out and offered us a roll of 6mm elastic she had on hand, to help the Melbourne mask making efforts, and I was totally blown away by the GOODNESS of this gesture. But then also, upon reflecting, not blown away because this is what this community has shown me time and time again and what I try to repay in turn - kindness, generosity and help. We have this elastic available in 5 metre lengths on our home page now, limit of one per person so more people who need it can access it. Thank you, Liz, for the elastic and the reminder of all the good in people ❤️ (visit her page, peeps - she has the most excellent travel stories and beautiful Indian cottons!)
